Cody Rhodes Pays Tribute To The McMahon Family, Triple H And More

Cody Rhodes

Whilst most fans were expecting Cody Rhodes to leave WrestleMania 39 as the new Undisputed Universal WWE Champion, the ‘American Nightmare’ came up short in his efforts against Roman Reigns.

In a post on his Instagram account, Rhodes opened his heart to thank a whole host of people following WrestleMania, including the McMahon family, Triple H and John Cena. He would also express his gratitude at being able to grant wishes for the Make A Wish Foundation during WrestleMania weekend:

A long week. I know last Sunday was not the result I’d hoped for, and I know many fans were disappointed as well. I make no excuses. I lost. I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you how much I enjoyed the ride…until Sunday night, and furthermore Monday night.

I would like to thank @thebrandirhodes @wwe ,the city of Los Angeles, Matt Rolf, @bradkolowichjr , @sgovintage , @jtcervero , HHH, The McMahon Family, Bruce, Conrad, Kevin Dunn, Ryan W, Ryan C, Mustache Chad, Brian James, Ed K, John Cone, John Cena, and @makeawishamerica for allowing me the honor to induct 15 wishes into the Circle Of Champions, and many more names I may be forgetting…in addition Nick Khan for taking care of my family through the festivities.

Lastly, the almost 200k fans who attended the weekend overall…unwavering and motivating. I want to be your champion.

Rhodes looked set to continue his feud with Roman Reigns the following night on RAW, joining forces with Brock Lesnar to take on Reigns and Solo SIkoa in a tag team main event. However, the ‘Beast Incarnate’ shockingly turned on Rhodes when launching a brutal attack as the show went off the air.

‘The American Nightmare’ signed off his thank you post by announcing that he would address his future, and assumably the attack by Lesnar, this coming Monday night on RAW.

“This Monday I hope to speak about my future with WWE and what may be next for me. @usanetwork”
