Cody Rhodes Opens Up About His Relationship With The Young Bucks

Cody Rhodes and The Young bucks

Although they now work in different companies, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks will always be linked.

After leaving WWE in 2016, Rhodes began making appearances for Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling and by the end of the year had joined Bucks, Kenny Omega, and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page in Bullet Club.

Although there were tensions between Rhodes and the rest of The Elite onscreen, behind the scenes they became firm friends. In 2018, it was Rhodes and the Bucks who were the driving force behind the first All In, astonishingly drawing 10,000 fans to the independent event just to show it could be done.

That show was the precursor to a much bigger move, the formation of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, something the trio was a key part of alongside Tony Khan. Rhodes was a top star as well as an EVP in the new company for three years, but in 2022 shocked many in the wrestling world when he decided to leave and return to WWE.

Since then, there have been questions about his current relationship with Matt and Nick Jackson, questions which have now been answered.

Cody Rhodes is still in regular contact with The Young Bucks

Rhodes recently spoke to Fightful Select at the premiere of his new Peacock documentary, Becoming Cody Rhodes, and confirmed that he speaks to the Bucks “fairly regularly”. In fact, the Jacksons allowed him to use footage from their Being The Elite YouTube series for the documentary, without which it might not have gone ahead.

The star reportedly added that even if they never share the ring again, he and the Bucks are “bonded for life.”

While there has been a lot of speculation that the Bucks could follow Rhodes to WWE when their current contracts expire, that possibility was recently played down with many in AEW expecting them to not only stay but get large pay increases to do so.
