Cody Rhodes’ Next WWE Championship Match Announced; Special Stipulation Attached

Cody Rhodes posing with Undisputed WWE Championship

After Bash In Berlin, Cody Rhodes’ next WWE Championship opponent has been announced.

At the Bash In Berlin PLE in Germany, Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens to retain his Championship. However, just one week after the PLE, Rhodes’ attention was again caught by his former rival Solo Sikoa.

Sikoa demanded a title shot against Rhodes, to which The American Nightmare refused and offered a shot to Jacob Fatu. Fatu pledging loyalty turned down the title opportunity and instead pushed The Tribal Chief ahead for a chance at the gold.

Soon enough, things turned sour for Rhodes, as The Bloodline almost ambushed before The Street Profits and DIY evened the numbers. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis soon silenced the chaos and confirmed Cody Rhodes versus Solo Sikoa for the WWE Championship, next week at the SmackDown premiere on the USA Network.

However, the upcoming match will now be contested inside a steel cage match to stop The Bloodline from interfering. Till now, hardly any special stipulations have been able to hold off the faction, and now fans wonder what other creative way the stable can find to help Sikoa win next week.

In recent news, The New Day is set to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the 16/9 episode of Raw.

Cody Rhodes Reflects On His WrestleMania 39 Loss Against Roman Reigns

In an exclusive interview with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes Magazine, Cody Rhodes opened up on his disheartening loss against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. The American Nightmare shared he could not get discouraged as he wanted his daughter to see him win the gold.

I can’t allow myself to really get rock bottom because it’d be super irresponsible of me to do that, because as much as I have the fever and love this, the things I love the most are my wife and my daughter and I don’t help them at all by taking my eyes off the prize. Me being older when I had Liberty means I got to continue to put in the time because, in terms of something that’s in the back of my mind, a goal I have is I want her to see me on top. She needs to start getting older so I can do that.”
