Rhodes regained the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam from John Cena. However, he barely got time to celebrate his win as he was annihilated on the recent episode of SmackDown.
Rhodes teamed up with former rival John Cena in a tag team match against Logan Paul and his new ally, Drew McIntyre. The babyface team ended up winning the contest via a disqualification when Paul lowblowed Cena to end the bout. While fans thought the encounter between the four was done, The Scottish Psychopath, true to his moniker, beat down on Rhodes severely.
McIntyre laid out The American Nightmare by attacking him with the title and proceeded to hit a Claymore as Rhodes was lying beside the announcer’s desk, which sent the champion through the table.
