Cody Rhodes Lets The Rock Know “The Offer Still Stands”

Cody Rhodes Lets The Rock Know

Cody Rhodes has let The Rock know that he is ready for a one-on-one match and believes that the Hollywood star is more than capable of delivering once more.

Returning to WWE on the SmackDown after the Royal Rumble, Rock was seemingly set to replace The American Nightmare as Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent before Rhodes made his final decision at the Mania press conference one week later. With Rock irate at the events that had transpired and slowly transforming into The Final Boss, fans predicted that a showdown between Rock and Rhodes looked to be inevitable, especially when the new Undisputed Champion was confronted by The People’s Champion on the Raw after WrestleMania.

At Elimination Chamber in Perth back in February, Rhodes called out The Final Boss for a match any time so that they could settle their differences once and for all. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes confirmed that he is still interested in a match against The Great One and that he would love the fans to see it:

“Offer still stands. And again, if he never comes back, he’s done it all. He really has. As much as I insulted him previously, it was an honour to be part of his last outing. But what I learned physically in the ring with him, it shouldn’t be his last outing. There’s more. There’s not just gas left in the tank, there might be multiple tanks. There’s more and I would like the WWE Universe or pro wrestling fans. I’d like them to see that.

I think there’s a world where [he’s the] WWE Director the Board, great. But I think there’s a world where WWE really benefits and this young audience being able to connect with him, they don’t know him as The People’s Champ they know him as The Final Boss. That offer stands whenever.”

Cody Rhodes Addresses Time In AEW

The Undisputed Championship victory occurred 2 years after Rhodes departed the company after helping to establish AEW. During the same interview, Cody Rhodes looked back on his time in the promotion and that he did not agree with some comments made by The Young Bucks.

Also in the interview, Cody Rhodes revealed which WWE promo may have “crossed the line.”

In a new interview, one Hall of Famer admitted that they didn’t think The Rock would be a success.
