At Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes barely survived his battle with Brock Lesnar, but that defeat has done little to dent his confidence.
Just 48 hours on from the vicious beating which saw him pass out in the middle of the ring, as The Beast attempted to destroy what was left of his arm, the American Nightmare returned to the red brand in defiant mood.
Rhodes said that in years past he would have tapped out, but he understood that if he did, he might not get another opportunity. So he took a leaf out of the book of John Cena, who preached “Never give up.”
The injured star took a shot at Lesnar for missing the show and being on his “annual vacation” before questioning whether The Beast can be satisfied knowing that the score is 1-1 between them.
Rhodes went on to lay down a challenge to Lesnar, saying that wherever he shows up, if he’s in a ring he’s ready to fight. The American Nightmare closed by declaring that Lesnar was “beast enough to break my arm but not man enough to make me tap out.”
Cody Rhodes For Money In The Bank?
While Cody Rhodes has his sights set on Brock Lesnar, it has been reported that the former AEW star could be set to go in a different direction.
According to a recent report it was reported that Rhodes is expected to feature in the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Many fans believe that victory here could be used to set up a huge rematch with Roman Reigns.
