Cody Rhodes has joined many UK fans in calling for a WrestleMania to take place in the country soon.
For the past 3 years, the UK has seen a major WWE show take place in England, Scotland and Wales. While the shows have been popular and well attended, fans are still holding out hope that the first WrestleMania to take place outside of the USA and Canada could be announced.
Although Nick Khan and Triple H have also made the trip over to London to speak with Mayor Sadiq Khan about the possibility, there has yet to be an announcement or any further updates.
Speaking to James Dawson of BBC News Manchester, Rhodes stated that he is hoping The Show of Shows will emanate from the UK by the end of the decade:
“If I’m aiming, it would be cool to get it [in the UK] in the next five years. There’s some really big venues over here that could host a WrestleMania,” adding, “I think American fans would jump at the chance to come to a WrestleMania [overseas], whether that that be in Manchester or London, I think they’d go nuts for it.”
The idea of a UK Mania was initially a dream that many fans in the country thought would be nice but realistically assumed would never happen. However, the perception of the show greatly changed when John Cena appeared at Money in the Bank in London and made the announcement that it was something he wanted to see. Noting this in the interview, Rhodes stated it could be the start of something big:
“When the greatest of all time, as we like to call John [Cena], goes out there and says it, it almost wills itself into existence. I’m very much looking forward to watching that situation unfold.”

With The American Nightmare finishing the story at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia and walking out with the Undisputed Championship, Rhodes will be hoping that the same takes place one year later in Las Vegas. While it is unknown who Cody Rhodes will be facing at this time, a new report gave some additional insight.
Unfortunately, a new update has cast doubt on plans for a UK WrestleMania.
