Cody Rhodes Injured By Travis Scott At WWE Elimination Chamber

Cody Rhodes did not walk away from WWE Elimination Chamber unscathed.

The recent Premium Live Event in Toronto saw The American Nightmare on the receiving end of one of the most shocking segments in professional wrestling in the 21st century. Beginning with Rhodes congratulating Chamber winner John Cena and confirming that Cena would challenge him for the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 41, the celebration was then interrupted by The Rock, who demanded that Rhodes sell his soul to The Final Boss.

Following Rhodes telling Rock “Go f*ck yourself”, the unthinkable happened as John Cena turned heel by delivering a low blow to Rhodes and continuing to assault the Undisputed Champion. Joining in on the beatdown, Rock and rap star Travis Scott also got their shots in on Rhodes and stood tall over the fallen champion to close out the show. However, as captured by fan footage, Scott delivered a stiff strike to Rhodes’ head, leading many to express concern.

As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Rhodes suffered a burst eardrum and black eye as a result of Scott:

“I’m pretty sure that it was Travis Scott that did it [hurt Rhodes]. I heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye.”

Cody Rhodes To Address Elimination Chamber Beatdown

Although the Cena heel turn was recapped and discussed numerous times on the March episode of WWE Raw, neither Cena, Rock nor Rhodes appeared live to discuss the shocking series of events that took place at Elimination Chamber. However, Rhodes has been announced for the March 7th episode of SmackDown and will address the beatdown.
