Cody Rhodes Gives Heart-Warming Dusty Rhodes Gift To Corey Graves (VIDEO)

Cody Rhodes cuts a promo

WWE have shared footage of Cody Rhodes presenting Corey Graves with a slice of wrestling memorabilia that once belonged to Dusty Rhodes.

Ahead of the May 2nd edition of Monday Night Raw, Cody Rhodes presented Corey Graves with a top hat was once owned by his father, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

Cody explained that ‘The Dream’ wore the hat during an appearance at the famous Greensboro Coliseum, in Greensboro North Carolina where Raw was being held. In the clip, Cody says that this is the second hat that Graves now owns that belonged to his legendary father.

On the show itself, Cody Rhodes continued his rivalry with Seth Rollins ahead of their match at WrestleMania Backlash. The Visionary had decided that May 2nd was going to be Seth Rollins appreciation night, so set about reminding the world just how good he is.

During the festivities, Rollins was interrupted by Rhodes who proceeded to trade insults with the star. However, it was Rollins’ words that made the most impact, as he told Cody that his father was an egomaniac and never good enough to win the WWE Championship. Furthermore, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and the American Nightmare will never with the WWE Title either.

As Rollins laughed maniacally, Rhodes hit a Cody Cutter to lay out his rival to close the segment.

Speaking during an appearance on the After The Bell podcast, Rhodes discussed the WWE Championship, and his desire to win it. He also revealed that he’d like to bring back the legendary winged eagle championship belt.

“Hypothetically, it would be something to do that, achieve the ultimate industry dream, being the best of the best ever, in terms of that moment in time, and then to perhaps give it a fresh coat of paint with the winged eagle, the redundantly named title we are discussing. That would just be something. That’s all I can really say.”

WrestleMania Backlash is set to take place in Providence, Rhode Island on May 8th.
