Cody Rhodes was not the top merchandise seller at the 2025 Royal Rumble.
On February 1st, tens of thousands of fans descended on Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in one of the biggest shows on the WWE calendar. After the show, WWE touted the success of the event with gate, viewership and social records all shattered, announcing the 2025 Royal Rumble was the most lucrative non-WrestleMania event in company history.
Another record that was smashed was for merchandise sales, with photos on social media showing a packed merch superstore ahead of the show and lengthy lines to get in. With this in mind, who were the big winners when it comes to how much merch was shifted?
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, generic and Royal Rumble branded merchandise was the number one seller over the weekend, which has generally been the case for big events over the past few years. In terms of which Superstar sold the most, John Cena took the top spot with Cody Rhodes second. The report notes that Rhodes has consistently been the top seller for the past couple of years, even outselling company merchandise at some events.
It was also stated that Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso was 3rd in the talent charts and “hinted at” that Roman Reigns was 4th. Additionally, the returning Alexa Bliss saw her merch “perform well.”
