Cody Rhodes’ Camp Reportedly “In Talks” With WWE

Cody Rhodes

With the astonishing news that Brandi and Cody Rhodes have left AEW, new reports say the couple could be in line for a return to WWE.

Cody Rhodes was a cornerstone in the foundation of All Elite Wrestling after he and The Young Bucks put together the All In show that proceeded it. When the company was announced on New Year’s Day 2019, Rhodes, along with Nick and Matt Jackson, and Kenny Omega were named Executive Vice Presidents. Brandi Rhodes worked as Chief Brand Officer as well as competing in the ring for AEW.

Cody, Brandi, and AEW President Tony Khan stunned the wrestling world when they announced that the couple were to leave AEW. Khan’s statement paid tribute to them both for helping successfully launch AEW and wished the pair well for the future.

Now Andrew Zarian has reported that Cody Rhodes could be in line for a shock return to WWE:

“I can confirm that Cody’s camp has been in contact with WWE officials.”

Rhodes previously debuted for WWE in 2007, going on to have a near decade-long career in the company where he held both the WWE Tag Team Championship and the Intercontinental Title.

Following his WWE departure, Rhodes wrestled for Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling where he joined Bullet Club, first aligning himself with The Young Bucks, Hangman Adam Page, and Kenny Omega.
