Cody Rhodes has backed up John Cena’s calls for WrestleMania to be held in London.
Cena made a surprise return to WWE TV at Money In The Bank to the delight of the London audience, who sang his entire entrance theme before moving to a “thank you Cena” chant.
The star said he wasn’t there for another match, but to send a message to the “decision-makers” that WrestleMania should be held in England’s Capital.
Cena was interrupted by Grayson Waller who had his own pitch, to hold the Showcase Of The Immortals in his home country of Australia instead. His idea didn’t go down well with anyone in attendance and eventually led to him receiving an AA for his troubles.

Cody Rhodes believes London deserves to host WWE WrestleMania
Rhodes also received a lot of adulation from the hot UK crowd, including a pitch-perfect rendition of his own theme and a huge ovation after he defeated Dominik Mysterio. So it’s no wonder that, during the press conference following Money In The Bank, The American Nightmare agreed with Cena’s proposition, saying that while there are a lot of potential markets, London would be “amazing.”
“I mean John is dead on, in the sense that, name a place that deserves it more. Listen, there’s so many potential markets; I still sometimes like try to put on my business hat, and you look at all these different places.
“Not saying things might have been fabricated, but back in the day, you’d hear about people making bids on shows. I don’t know if there were any bids on shows. Whereas today, it’s really happening. If you look at these econ impact reports, like for WrestleMania 39, my gosh.”
“London for WrestleMania would be amazing. It really, really, really would. It would be a very special thing. There’s a lot of good places, but that would be special. I don’t know if John knew something I didn’t know about.”
Rhodes then said what a lot of people were thinking, that Cena might know more about the possibility that others don’t.
Rhodes added that he thought Cena “was about to say it’s happening … He’s the man, so John can say what he wants. Again though, he might know something we all don’t know so I hope that does happen for London. That would be very special and I’d be all about it.”
