Cody Rhodes was confronted by former WWE Champion The Miz on Raw and now a new report has shed light on Rhodes using words previously thought banned on WWE TV.
Monday Night Raw opened with an edition of Miz TV which saw The Most Must See WWE Superstar interview the recently returned Cody Rhodes. As per usual, things broke down as The Miz antagonised the popular Rhodes while Cody Rhodes dropped some verbiage that was long thought to be a no-no on WWE television.
The American Nightmare referred to belts and wrestlers, while The Miz played up to his adversary by correcting him saying that they were known as championships and WWE Superstars. At one point Cody Rhodes told Miz he was “full of…” before trailing off, the word so often heard on AEW Dynamite a step too far for WWE programming.
Now Dave Meltzer has discussed Rhodes using “banned” words on WWE programming on Wrestling Observer Radio, and says despite what people might think, it’s all part of the script:
“This is all scripted so his gimmick apparently is that he gets to say the words that nobody else gets to say and gets corrected.”
Cody Rhodes was then challenged for a match at WrestleMania Backlash by his WrestleMania 38 opponent Seth Rollins with the match being made official for the show on the 8th of May.
