Cody Rhodes has discussed The Rock being a potential roadblock on his road to WrestleMania 40.
Ever since he lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, The American Nightmare has made it his mission to have the rematch in Philadephia and be the one to bring The Tribal Chief’s lengthy reign to an end. However, as The Rock implied he would be confronting Reigns at some point soon, any plans that seemed to be certain have been thrown into disarray.
Speaking with Mark Raimondi of ESPN, Rhodes was asked about potential involvement from The Great One and if he is going to affect The American Nightmare’s quest for glory. Rhodes responded that although he has a lot of respect for the former World Champion, he doesn’t consider his path to be altered:
“I don’t consider him in my way. Maybe he is, and I’m being naive to it. Maybe he maybe he wants to get in, I don’t know. But I don’t consider him in my way. Again, The Rock is one of the main reasons we’re here today. Nothing but respect. But also at the same time, I have to have the respect for myself to know where I’d like to go.”
According to a new report, Cody Rhodes may not get to finish the story at WrestleMania.
