Cody Rhodes Admits He’ll “Never Get Along” With Top WWE Star

Cody Rhodes cuts a promo

When Cody Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 his opponent was Seth Rollins.

The two men then embarked on a lengthy rivalry which saw them wrestle on two more occasions with Rhodes winning all three of their bouts. The final match in the trilogy has already climbed to legendary status due to the American Nightmare competing inside Hell In A Cell with a serious pectoral injury.

During his time away from WWE, Rhodes wasn’t shy about taking shots at WWE and Triple H, meaning that when he returned he explained he felt like an outsider. Reflecting on these feelings and meeting Seth Rollins upon coming back with Robbie Fox on My Mom’s Basement, Rhodes revealed that he’ll never get along with his fellow star. Rhodes said that while a great amount of respect exists between the two they simply don’t like each other.

“I felt almost like… no one made me feel this way. I felt almost like an outsider, and to a degree, a bit like an enemy. Because we had put on such a battle on Wednesday nights and I had done things and said things.

And they weren’t things you can walk back. They are things you live with and there’s reasons for them and you stand by them. But as much as I might’ve felt that way, I was met with familiar faces like a Kofi Kingston.

Seth and I genuinely, if you ask him the same thing, if he was sitting in this chair he’d tell you, he doesn’t like me, I don’t like Seth. We’re not gonna get along ever.

However, the utmost respect for him. And for him to look at me as an asset made me not worry about what anyone else was thinking.”
