Cody Rhodes vows to bounce back from his WrestleMania 41 Main Event.
Earlier this year at WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes lost his WWE Championship against a heel John Cena in the main event of the PLE. However, their 25-minute bout at the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’ attracted several negative reactions and feedback. Despite Travis Scott’s interference, the match failed to live up to the hype.
Now, following his King of the Ring final victory against Randy Orton, Rhodes is again scheduled to face Cena at SummerSlam 2025, next month. During his recent appearance on Busted Open, The American Nightmare responded to the criticisms his WrestleMania 41 match received and promised to reach the finish line this time at SummerSlam.
“SummerSlam, I don’t wanna go as far as making any promises, but I can tell you the goal with SummerSlam is if people felt a certain way about WrestleMania, I will put that all on my back and take all the credit and responsibility for perhaps not feeling satisfied. I’d like to get ‘em to the finish line with SummerSlam. Very much looking forward to doing this dance again.”

Last year at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes finished his story, and hopes to repeat the same feat this time in New Jersey at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Xavier Woods Takes Credit For Cody Rhodes’ Historic Victory
I’m here to say that there are less than 30 men in the history of humanity that have the ability to say that they won the King of the Ring tournament, and I am one of them. So, to everybody, once again, you’re welcome, especially…especially to the golden child Cody Rhodes, because we all know that he needed another reason to get back in line to fight for that title. He couldn’t have done that any other way. Nobody could’ve used that spot more than him.”
