Cody Rhodes Addresses WWE Fans After Royal Rumble Win

AEW Star Believes Cody Rhodes Paid Him Out Of His Own Pocket For All In 2018 Appearance

At WWE Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes made history.

The American Nightmare became the first person to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches in 26 years. Rhodes now joins Hulk Hogan, Shawn Micheals and Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only four people who have achieved this feat.

As the former AEW star basked in the glory of his success he pointed directly to Roman Reigns making his WrestleMania intentions clear for all to see. But he wasn’t finished there as he spoke to the crowd in a heartfelt post-match promo.

What did Cody Rhodes have to say after his second consecutive Royal Rumble victory?

Following his shocking elimination of CM Punk to book his place in the main event of WrestleMania 40, he took to the microphone to address the fans in attendance after the camera stopped rolling.

Tampa, St. Pete, Did you have a great time tonight? Guys I owe you an apology. I am sorry about what happened at WrestleMania 39. But we’re going to WrestleMania 40. It’s been a long night I won’t keep you here, an amazing show, an amazing crew, an amazing production.

Sometimes when I come to Tampa, when I come to St Pete, sometimes I try and stay and keep to myself, the reason is – this is Dusty territory. So I thank you very much, for making it a Cody territory. I love you guys all so much. Have a great night and I’ll see you next time. [h/t SE Scoops]
