At WWE Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes made history.
The American Nightmare became the first person to win back-to-back Royal Rumble matches in 26 years. Rhodes now joins Hulk Hogan, Shawn Micheals and Stone Cold Steve Austin as the only four people who have achieved this feat.
As the former AEW star basked in the glory of his success he pointed directly to Roman Reigns making his WrestleMania intentions clear for all to see. But he wasn’t finished there as he spoke to the crowd in a heartfelt post-match promo.

Following his shocking elimination of CM Punk to book his place in the main event of WrestleMania 40, he took to the microphone to address the fans in attendance after the camera stopped rolling.
Tampa, St. Pete, Did you have a great time tonight? Guys I owe you an apology. I am sorry about what happened at WrestleMania 39. But we’re going to WrestleMania 40. It’s been a long night I won’t keep you here, an amazing show, an amazing crew, an amazing production.

Dusty Rhodes was deeply intertwined with the state of Florida throughout his legendary career. It was in Championship Wrestling from Florida that he established himself as The American Dream in the early 1970s.
Rhodes quickly rose to stardom in Florida, capturing numerous regional titles like the NWA Florida Television Championship twice and the NWA Florida Heavyweight Championship 12 times.
