Cody Rhodes Addresses Sharing The Spotlight With Roman Reigns On WWE SmackDown

Is WWE SmackDown big enough for Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns to coexist?

Following on from his victory over The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania, The American Nightmare has cemented himself as the top star on SmackDown and the entire company. Appearing on a full-time schedule and receiving a thunderous ovation from the fans each week, Rhodes has kept the momentum of the company strong during a period when historically interest is known to dip.

While Rhodes has remained unchallenged on Friday nights as the top star, everything changed at SummerSlam when Roman Reigns finally returned to handle Bloodline business. With the two biggest stars now a regular fixture on the show once again, is Rhodes concerned that only one star can be at the top?

Appearing at Fanatics Fest over the past weekend, Rhodes acknowledged the company success that has been attributed to The Bloodline saga and that he would share any show with Reigns:

WWE and I don’t mean this in a braggadocious way, is currently the most popular it’s ever been. A considerable amount of that has to do with the Bloodline and Roman Reigns. There are people that think that forces cannot co-exist on the show. That’s crazy. WWE’s roster is the best that it’s ever been. I am happy and glad to share SmackDown, to share Raw, to share every PLE with Roman Reigns. However, [the Undisputed WWE Championship], belongs to me.”

Cody Rhodes Teases Future Surprises

Providing Rhodes can successfully defend the Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin, the next title defence will likely be at Bad Blood in October. Hyping up the event ahead of time, Cody Rhodes teased that there could be some surprises at the event.

H/t to Fightful.
