Taking to social media yesterday, Cody officially inducted three new members to his coveted Nightmare Family.
From one family to another, the first of the newest arrivals are Gunn Club members Billy and Austin Gunn who are of course father and son. Though there was no reason given for this inclusion, the push up the food chain will give Billy and Austin a greater presence in the AEW Tag Team Division.
With the makeshift team of Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall already nestled in the group, Gunn Club also give The Nightmare Family a better chance of eventually capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championships currently held by FTR.
Recently, Gunn Club have been on a winning streak on AEW Dark defeating teams such as Cezar Bononi and Shawn Dean, Ryzin and Max Stardom as well as Donnie Primetime and Ryan Rembrandt.
I’m thrilled to welcome this Father/Son true tag-team to our mix.
Billy is an absolute legend and a world class professional both on camera and BTS.

Secondly, Cody announced the arrival of rising star Lee Johnson. Though Johnson hasn’t been a regular on AEW Dynamite, he has been present on sister-show AEW Dark since April when he made his debut against QT Marshall on April 7.
Since then, the firecracker has battled the likes of Mr. Brodie Lee, Wardlow, Private Party, Eddie Kingston and Matt Sydal to name only a few. He has yet to pick up a victory on AEW television.
As the newest member of The Nightmare Family, Johnson has clearly been handpicked for a push and with the likes of Cody, Dustin and Arn Anderson to learn from the sky is the limit. However, it is unknown as of yet whether his inclusion means he has been granted a full time contract with the Jacksonville promotion.
Sky is the limit for this 22yr old prospect!
He’s put in the time and effort at the @NF_Training – he’s ready to take the next step in his career. A winning step. He will have all the tools at his behest now.

Recently, Cody’s faction suffered a blow when they lost Allie to Eddie Kingston’s bloc and the recruitment drive is said to be part of an initiative to make the group a stronger threat heading into the New Year.
Inside the Ropes will keep you updated on any new additions to Cody’s brethren.
