It is worth noting that CMLL and ROH haven’t held a joint show since 2019. However, Ring Of Honor COO Joe Koff recently cited the COVID-19 pandemic as making it difficult for the company to work with it’s partners.
The two companies initially came together through their own separate relationships with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
One of the major moves to come to fruition as a result of the partnership was the ROH signing of RUSH. The Mexican Luchador had initially shone with CMLL before signing exclusively with ROH in January 2019.
RUSH has continued to enjoy success in ROH, where he currently holds the ROH World Championship.
It was reported earlier in 2021 that WWE passed up the opportunity to sign El Toro Blanco, with his asking price deemed to be too high by the company.
