CMLL 87th Anniversary Show Proceeds In Spite Of COVID Cases

CMLL 87th Anniversary

Mexico’s oldest wrestling promotion, CMLL, is to proceed with their 87th-anniversary show despite multiple roster members having tested positive for COVID-19.

The company returned to La Arena Mexico earlier in September, producing a handful of no-fan shows designed to build towards the celebratory event, dubbed Una Noche de Campeones or A Night of Champions.

In a unique wrinkle, CMLL had allowed its fans the opportunity to select the challengers for the various title matches via a series of polls on their website.

However, the card has since seen multiple changes due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Talents that have been ruled out thus far include Princess Sugehit, who had been slated to challenge for CMLL’s Women’ World Championship and fellow luchadora Lluiva, whose partner Ultimo Guerrero may also miss the card as a precaution.

Full card for the event, as things stand, below:

CMLL World Tag Team Championship
