CM Punk’s WWE WrestleMania Plans Confirmed

CM Punk's WWE WrestleMania Plans Confirmed

CM Punk’s match at WrestleMania 40 is what most fans are expecting.

In what was one of the biggest moments in wrestling in 2023, Punk returned to the company he walked out of in 2014 at Survivor Series, receiving a thunderous ovation from the Chicago crowd. While the majority of the sold-out crowd was ecstatic that The Second City Saint was back, Seth Rollins was irate at Punk, as was seen in fan footage being restrained by WWE officials.

Many had predicted that this was part of a larger storyline and that Punk and Rollins would inevitably collide, likely with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. According to a new report, this is still the plan.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Punk vs. Rollins is still scheduled for WrestleMania 40. Additionally, plans for Roman Reigns are still unconfirmed:

Seth Rollins vs. Punk is the confirmed WrestleMania plan. Reigns opponent is expected to be either The Rock or Rhodes, or it could be a three-way.

It is very likely that this could be the main event of WrestleMania Saturday. If so, this will be the first time that both men will be in a WrestleMania event that they have been advertised for ahead of time. While Rollins was a part of the WrestleMania 31 main event, this was a surprise inclusion midway through the match to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.

CM Punk’s WrestleMania Plans Could Still Change

Although the plan is for Punk and Rollins to collide at WrestleMania, the events that took place on January 15th may factor into plans for Philadelphia. During his latest title defence against Jinder Mahal, Rollins injured his knee, which was later reported to be legitimate. According to the latest update, Seth Rollins has been pulled from multiple WWE events and is awaiting further evaluations.

Seth Rollins will address his future as World Heavyweight Champion on the next episode of Monday Night Raw.
