Stephen P New has spoken on Tony Khan‘s claims about CM Punk‘s behaviour at AEW All In.
On September 2nd, Tony Khan opened AEW Collision with a statement announcing that he had fired CM Punk. The decision was made after Punk had a physical altercation with Jack Perry backstage at All In at Wembley Arena in London.
Khan explained that it was the “toughest decision of his life,” but noted the incident endangered people backstage including production staff. The AEW Owner himself claimed that it was the first time that he had felt his “life was in danger” at a wrestling show.
Since then, Khan has steadfastly refused to talk about the incident beyond his statement and the one released by AEW on the same day.

Now, Stephen P New, who was one of Punk’s representatives during his AEW tenure and beyond, has been speaking about the events surrounding All In, although he is under similar legal restrictions to Khan.
During an appearance on Rumor & Innuendo, New was asked if Punk had been subject to a no-compete clause following his firing, but he couldn’t comment on the subject.
“I can’t really speak to that with respect to Punk. What I can say is that the contracts vary for whether or not non-competes remain in place, the types of terminations and that sort of thing. In terms of him specifically, there is no way I can get into that.”
When it comes to Khan fearing for his life and whether he “overstepped” by making that claim, New simply said Khan could comment however he felt.
“He’s welcome to comment on however he felt about whatever.”
Chris Jericho Claims CM Punk’s Lawyer Wrong About NDA’s
Chris Jericho has recently been involved in an online argument with Stephen P New, claiming that he is not under a non-disclosure agreement over the infamous events of All Out 2022. At the media scrum following the event, CM Punk went on an unexpected tirade about AEW and specifically targeted Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks during his rant.
In the aftermath of the scrum, a brawl broke out between Punk, Ace Steel, The Elite, and several others. This resulted in many involved signing NDAs to prevent them from discussing the incident in public.
New claimed this covered everyone present, but Jericho has now disputed that, saying he has never signed an NDA and can speak freely.
