CM Punk Wins WWE Return Match At Madison Square Garden Live Event; Full Show Results

CM Punk triumphs in his first WWE match in nearly a decade.

Making his return to a WWE ring at the December 26th non-televised event in Madison Square Garden in New York City, Punk picked up the victory against Dominik Mysterio as a packed crowd cheered him on inside the World’s Most Famous Arena.

The former World Champion received a rapturous ovation from the crowd as he made his entrance, with the capacity crowd yelling out “It’s clobbering time” for the first time in nearly 10 years and chanting “You still got it” in the opening stages. Footage from the match shows that Punk was the clear fan favourite over Mysterio, who was also accompanied to the ring by Rhea Ripley. As Punk gained the upper hand, Ripley would reverse the momentum by taking advantage as the referee was distracted. Punk would go on to win the match by hitting a GTS on the former North American Champion.

After the match, CM Punk also cut a promo for the live fans in attendance.

The results from the Madison Square Garden Live Event are as follows:

  • Main Event: Seth Rollins (c) defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bull Rope Match
