‘The Best in the World’ CM Punk has orated that a potential match with Stone Cold Steve Austin would have lasted mere seconds had it ever transpired.
Unfortunately for the wrestling world, both mega-stars came along at different times and never had the chance to tangle between the ropes despite Punk taking a Stone Cold Stunner at the conclusion of a Dark Match on Monday Night Raw.
When ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ was coming to the end of a long and storied career against The Rock at WrestleMania XIX, ‘The Straight Edge Superstar’ was making a name for himself on the indies and readying for main stage success several years later. However, Austin had always been noted as saying that if he was to return for one last match, it would have been against the former WWE Champion.
Now, the master of the GTS has taken to social media in order to state, in his usual jocular manner, that a bout between the two would have lasted seconds had they ever opposed each other between the ropes.
In a Q&A with the star, a fan asked Punk that if he thought a bout with the hellraising S.O.B would have been a good match had it ever occurred in 2013-2014. The talent’s reply was a swift one:
“Would’ve Been Short. GTS, 1 2 3.”
Would’ve been short. GTS, 1 2 3.

The chance of such a dream warfare passed the wrestling world by when Punk walked out of World Wrestling Entertainment following the 2014 Royal Rumble and Stone Cold Steve Austin has orated that he is retired with no chance of the fabled one last match.
