CM Punk is back in AEW.
The controversial star made his long-awaited return to AEW on the debut episode of Collision. Punk opened the show to a monster reaction from the Chicago crowd.
As Punk took the mic he cut an impassioned promo about making his comeback before taking several shots at the Elite, especially the Young Bucks.
The relationship between Punk and the Elite is strained to say the least. The animosity comes from the alleged fight backstage after the former World Champion called them children at the All Out Media Scrum in 2022.
The fallout of the confrontation resulted in all parties being suspended and stripped of their championships. The Bucks and Kenny Omega returned a few months later while Punk, who was also recovering from an injury, took much longer.
After months of contradictive reports, Punk’s return was finally confirmed with the arrival of a new show Collision.
CM Punk Through Several Insults During His Comeback Promo On AEW Collision
As Collision kicked off, Punk stood in the ring with a mic in his hand and a smirk on his face. During the promo, he repeatedly told the audience that he was there, to tell the truth, and the truth hurts.
After whipping the crowd into a frenzy he threw several shady remarks at the Young Bucks.
“You know what David Zaslav calls me?… ‘One Bill Phil.’ That’s because I am the one true, genuine article in a business of counterfeit Bucks…”
"The King is back, baby!"

During the same promo, he gave an apology, well sort of. Punk said:
“You want an apology? Here it is. I’m sorry that the only people softer than you are the wrestlers you like.”
Toward the end of his cocky rant, he revealed he still viewed himself as the World Champion and will continue to do so until he is pinned or submitted.
