CM Punk in NXT

CM Punk has finally opened up on his thoughts about AEW airing the All In backstage footage.

Last year at All In 2023, Punk got into a heated fight with Jack Perry. The incident ultimately led to his departure from the promotion, and Perry’s suspension. However, while Punk jumped ships to WWE, Perry became one of the top heels in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

In a recent interview with Jimmy Traina on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast, Punk opened up on his feelings about the incident. While he felt what AEW did was “ugly”, he was also glad to be a part of the spotlight.

It felt really ugly, but then I was like, showing that footage isn’t going to help them or hurt me, so whatever. Being a top draw in two different companies is pretty wild. Thanks, guys.”

Before AEW aired the footage, the Second City Saint shared the details with Ariel Helwani on his podcast.Tony Khan then used the footage to boost a kayfabe story between FTR and The Young Bucks. Despite, Punk’s absence from the promotion, he was still featured in the footage.
