WWE star CM Punk has landed a major acting role in the upcoming indie horror film Night Patrol.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, set for release in 2025, will feature CM Punk in a “key role” alongside a star-studded cast that includes Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, RJ Cyler, Dermot Mulroney, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux. The film is directed by Ryan Prows.
Night Patrol centres on a Los Angeles police officer, played by Jermaine Fowler, who uncovers a terrifying secret being hidden by a local police task force, putting the residents of his childhood neighbourhood in danger. The Hollywood Reporter provided additional insight into the storyline, describing how the officer is forced to ally with the area’s street gangs to confront the lurking threat.
Punk’s character will play a significant role as the “brutal right-hand man” to Mulroney’s character, a police sergeant with many dark secrets. Long will portray Fowler’s partner, an officer recruited into the night patrol as part of a family legacy, while Cyler plays Fowler’s brother, who witnesses something he wasn’t supposed to see.
This role marks the latest addition to Punk’s growing film career, which began in 2019. Earlier this year, Punk signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, signalling his intent to expand his presence in the entertainment industry.
