CM Punk Set For Huge Rematch At WWE Bash In Berlin; August 20th Wrestling News Round-Up

Ronda Rousey has not held back in another scathing review of Vince McMahon.

While Rousey had a number of high-profile matches during her career, the former Women’s Champion never got the one-on-one match with Becky Lynch that many fans were hoping for given their many exchanges in her first run.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Rousey was asked why the Lynch match never took place, to which Rousey placed the blame entirely on McMahon while also calling out John Laurinaitis and Bruce Prichard once more:

Chris Van Vliet: “Why couldn’t the Becky match happen at WrestleMania?”

Ronda Rousey: “Because Vince is an 80-year-old asshole.”

Van Vliet: “So there’s no love lost here with Vince McMahon?”

Rousey: “No, Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, Bruce Prichard, they can all suck a dick.”

Van Vliet: “But good with Triple H and Stephanie?”

Rousey: “They are fantastic, I love them.”

• Sheamus defeated Pete Dunne by pinfall.
• Ivy Nile vs. Maxxine Dupri ended in a No Contest.
• The New Day’s Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods, and Odyssey Jones defeated The Final Testament – Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar (w/Paul Ellering & Scarlett) by pinfall.
• Bronson Reed defeated The Miz by pinfall in a No Disqualification Match.
• Braun Strowman made his WWE return to confront Bronson Reed.
• Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn defeated Damage CTRL – Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane and Pure Fusion Collective – Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark (w/Sonya Deville) by pinfall to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
• Randy Orton defeated Ludwig Kaiser by pinfall.

Next week on Monday Night Raw, Bo Dallas makes his WWE in-ring return for the first time in over five years.

During last night’s episode of Raw, The Wyatt Sicks would attack Chad Gable once again following which it would be announced that next week Uncle Howdy will go one-on-one with Chad Gable.

The match is set to be Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas) first match since 2019…when he lost to Chad Gable and The Lucha House Party in a six man tag team match.

Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw was filled with surprises.

Following the culmination of Bronson Reeds brutal beatdown of The Miz, former WWE Champion, ‘The Monster Amongst Men’ Braun Strowman made his shock WWE return to confront the Australian star.

Strowman last appeared on WWE TV over a month ago and now looks set for a huge MEATY face-off against Bronson Reed when the two goliaths go one-on-one on next week’s episode of Raw.

On the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Jack Perry trashed the TNT Championship before unveiling a new blackened, scapegoat version of the belt.

Now, in a new video, Jack Perry has revealed that he himself created the belt from the scraps of the previous championship.

Back in July, Pat McAfee announced his return to ESPN College Gameday ahead of the 24/25 season.

Prior to this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, McAfee announced he would be taking a short break from WWE to focus on other projects.

Fans were disappointed to hear that the voice of Raw would be leaving once again but Michael Cole has given fans reassurance announcing that McAfee will be returning in January 2025 when Raw moves to Netflix!

On Saturday 31 August, WWE is set to present it’s next international PLE Bash in Berlin live from…you guessed it, Berlin, Germany.

During last night’s episode of Raw, CM Punk laid out a rematch to rival Drew McIntyre after ‘The Scottish Warrior’ defeated him at SummerSlam.

Punk, whilst dubbing himself Taylor Swift for men, would challenge McIntyre to a huge match in Germany with a rarely seen stipulation.

Rumored for a long time, CM Punk confirmed a strap match against Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin. Punk engaged in a lengthy promo on RAW, as he thanked the fans and later announced the upcoming bout.

The strap match has featured just five times in WWE (main roster) history, with the latest match being the Strap Match between Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross at Extreme Rules 2022.
