CM Punk faces a big problem with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch after what happened at Clash in Paris. The married couple has joined forces against him, and now all signs point to one thing – AJ Lee might be coming back to WWE.
The buzz around AJ Lee’s return is getting louder. Multiple reports suggest WWE has been talking about bringing her back in creative meetings. These talks are not getting shut down like they used to. Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez confirmed that WWE is planning a mixed tag match with Punk and Lee against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza on September 20.

Punk told Raw general manager Adam Pearce that he will be on SmackDown this Friday, September 5, in Chicago. This is his hometown, and also where Lee lives. The timing seems perfect for her to make an appearance.
But what really got fans talking was Punk’s latest Instagram story. He posted a meme with the caption
okay…you asked for it”.
Many fans think this could be hinting at Lee’s return. The timing of this post, right after his heated confrontation with Lynch on Raw, seems too perfect to be a coincidence.
WWE sources have strongly hinted that Lee will appear or be mentioned on this week’s SmackDown in Chicago. If true, this would be her first WWE appearance in over 10 years. Her last match was on March 30, 2015.
Becky Lynch Slaps CM Punk in Heated RAW Confrontation
The tension between Punk and Lynch exploded on Monday Night RAW in Paris. Punk called out Rollins to face him like a man, but Lynch came out instead to her husband’s music.
Lynch defended her husband and told him to get out of their way because he doesn’t fit their vision. When the crowd started chanting “AJ Lee,” Lynch shut them down by saying, “Classic, always chanting for a dope that doesn’t work here.” Punk fired back by calling Rollins a coward who hides behind his wife. He told Lynch she has bad taste for marrying beneath her. This made Rollins appear on the stage, but when Punk tried to confront him, Lynch blocked his path.
That’s when things got physical. Lynch slapped Punk hard across the face multiple times. She kept hitting him and dared him to fight back. Punk showed restraint and didn’t retaliate against her. Before leaving, Punk delivered a warning that sent chills through the crowd. He told Lynch: “I’m going to make Seth Rollins regret ever cashing in on me, and you’re going to regret putting your hands on me.” Lynch responded by saying she already regretted touching his sweaty body.
The confrontation ended with Lynch trying to get the crowd to chant “goodbye” at Punk, but they booed her instead. This heated exchange has set the stage for what could be the return of Lee to even the odds.
