(WARNING: Spoilers ahead for SmackDown viewers in the US.)

CM Punk went all in during his latest segment on SmackDown tonight.

WWE hosted the June 27 edition of SmackDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a day before their much-awaited Night of Champions PLE. However, the opening segment of SmackDown saw a sudden outage in Netflix’s feed, although the rest of the show went on as planned.
In the main event of the show, John Cena and CM Punk engaged in a promo segment. While Cena entered the ring in his usual shtick, it was Punk who undertook a completely different approach. Taking a public dig at Cena’s past gimmick, ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’, The Second City Saint came out as ‘Punk Life’.
The Voice of the Voiceless came out dressed as a younger Cena from over 20 years ago, and grabbed a mic on his way to the ring. Taking brutal shots at his upcoming opponent, Punk cut a promo in the form of a rap, while he roasted and dissed several stars, including The Undertaker, Nikki Bella, among others.
The former champion began his rap verse by taking an initial shot at the 2022 Hall of Famer. Punk dissed Cena and The Undertaker over their ‘ritual’ of burying talents during their matches.

Yo, check it, this is basic Punkanomics. Don’t adjust your television set, your eyes are working just right. This clown plagiarised my pipebomb so now I’m stealing Word Life.

You had to rip me off to cut your best promo, just to distract from the fact that we all see you move in slow mo. Remember when he used to rap? You deserve all the criticism, you’re like a Temu Macklemore with Mackle-less rhythm. He said I’m a problem, he called me a player hater, let’s be honest, John Cena’s buried more talent than The Undertaker.”

In less than 24 hours, Punk is scheduled to face Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Apart from The Franchise Player, The Second City Saint also shared a vivid rivalry with The Phenom.

CM Punk Apologizes To Saudi Arabian Fans Following Past Controversial Comments

During the Night of Champions Kick-off Show, CM Punk was welcomed to the stage with massive boos from the crowd. Drowned in a wave of negative reactions, he issued an apology to the fans over his previous controversial tweet.

Addressing the crowd, CM Punk issued an apology and expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for hosting him.

This guy wants me to apologize to him for a mean tweet I wrote six years ago. Listen, legitimately had nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. I woke up and was crabby, and wrote a mean tweet to The Miz. I apologize to The Miz. What is your name? Mohammed? I sincerely apologize to you and all of Saudi Arabia.”

“I am not perfect by any means. Sometimes, as human beings, we screw up. The beautiful thing [is that] everything is a lesson learned. Now here I am, and you have invited me to your country, and I’m grateful to be here. Thank you very much.”
