CM Punk returning to WWE has reportedly garnered some buzz from top names in the company, but it will likely boil down to a decision not made by Triple H or Vince McMahon.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that once Tony Khan fired CM Punk from AEW, he immediately became a topic of discussion for stars within WWE. Thoughts of differing opinion were both had, but one top tier talent was noted as “all for” bringing Punk in, although that wouldn’t be their call – it would be Endeavor.
Punk was stated to have a good relationship with UFC and Endeavor when he briefly fought in the octagon and while Punk severed his WWE relationship under unsavory terms, he did happen to share a conversaton with Triple H earlier this year when he showed up backstage. PWInsider says while a full-time return with WWE is likely out of the realm of possibility, him working big name events could be in the cards if WWE aims to pursue the now former AEW star.
Another Surprising Promotion Is Interested In CM Punk
Although there is no word about CM Punk having any sort of conversations when it comes to a pro wrestling return, PWInsider reports that many at Impact Wrestling were super excited at the prospect of potentially bringing Punk in. While he would certainly carry a high price tag that any promotion outside of AEW or WWE would be hard to pay for, Punk doesn’t appear to to be under any sort of non-compete clause following his firing so him wrestling on the indies could be on the table if he so wishes.
Punk did have a “cup of coffee” with Impact Wrestling, he also had a run in the early days of MLW, notably sharing a memorable feud with Raven at the time.
