Despite no longer being in AEW together CM Punk and FTR remain intrinsically linked.
The two parties have remained friends following the fallout from Punk’s scorched-earth promo at last year’s All Out Press Conference. Punk ripped into the promotion’s leadership and backstage culture before being stripped of the World Championship and suspended.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler has backed up their friend throughout the ordeal, which led to speculation they could follow him out of the door when their contracts were up.
After several months away from television the duo returned at Revolution to confront the Tag Team Champions, The Gunns. Following their comeback, Harwood and Wheeler challenged the champs to a Title vs. Career match.
On the April 5th edition of AEW Dynamite the two teams clashed in the main event with the Gunn’s titles and FTR’s future on the line. The match ended with Harwood and Wheeler beating Austin and Colten Gunn, reclaiming the World Tag Team Champions and keeping their careers alive.
In an emotional moment, their former Ring of Honor foe, Mark Briscoe joined the new champions in the ring to celebrate the victory. After the win, another of the two-time champion’s close friends, Punk took to social media to share the image on his Instagram story.

CM Punk Sent A Message To Fans During FTR Live
On March 31st during the live stream of FTR Live with Dax Harwood as presented by FITE TV the multi-time Tag Team Champion revealed he had a text message from Punk directed to the audience.
“I miss them.”
The message caused the crowd to chant for Punk despite the constant backstage drama. Harwood then read a second text from Punk, which said:
“I wish I’d bought them all ice cream.”
In 2021, Punk made his debut for at Rampage: First Dance. After soaking in the adulation of the raucous crowd he bought them all ice cream bars. It was reported Punk purchased 15,000 bars from Chicago’s Pretty Cool Ice Cream, which were available for free to the people in attendance at the United Center.
