CM Punk hasn’t been seen on AEW programming for over four months now. His last public AEW-related appearance was at All Out 2022 and that event ended in controversy. After a backstage altercation, Punk went home and had surgery done on an injury he sustained in the All Out main-event.
In his absence, there has been much discussion and speculation over his future. Tony Khan has remained silent on anything related to Punk since All Out.
There have been reports that he wants out of his AEW contract and additional theories suggesting he might return to AEW later on, or he might go to WWE, or he might leave wrestling altogether.
But for the time being, CM Punk just wants some ice cream.

A recent photo that was posted to Twitter shows CM Punk eating ice cream alongside AEW’s Brody King. The photo includes a small caption from Punk highlighting how King used to park cars at The Forum and now he was wrestling in that venue instead.
“[King] used to park cars at the @thekiaforum and last night he wrestled in there. He made a post about it and I just think it’s super cool.”
Despite not being physically present, CM Punk’s name has still been thrown around quite a lot lately. He got into a small spat with MJF over the latter removing his name from a PWI award they earned together. Several wrestlers, including Chris Jericho, are allegedly conspiring to ensure that Punk never comes back to AEW.
Even speaking Punk’s name in a positive manner is enough to ruffle feathers, as Dax Harwood’s recent experience highlighted.
