CM Punk Says Only The “Nobodies” Don’t Want Him In AEW

New AEW World Champion CM Punk has claimed that only the “nobodies” in AEW don’t want him to be part of the company.

CM Punk picked up his 19th and most important win of his AEW career at Double Or Nothing as he defeated Hangman Adam Page in the main event to become only the 5th man to hold the AEW World Championship.

Speaking at the post-show media scrum, Punk was asked about the storyline going into Double Or Nothing where Page claimed to be trying to save AEW from CM Punk if he became champion. Punk answered diplomatically saying it was only a minority backstage that don’t want him there:

“I’ve grown so wise in my old age that I’ll do my best to be as diplomatic as I possibly can with this answer. If there are people backstage that don’t like me, it’s a minority. If anybody says that nobody wants me here or nobody likes me, I like to say that nobodies don’t want me here and nobodies don’t like me.”

CM Punk had a very personal feud with Eddie Kingston that culminated in a hard-hitting match at Full Gear in November 2021. Punk also had a very public falling out with former best friend Colt Cabana after the two men were sued by WWE doctor Chris Amann for comments Punk made on Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast.
