The Voice Of The Voiceless CM Punk joined his co-commentator at an MMA event in making some pretty heavy hints pointing towards a wrestling return.
CM Punk has been heavily rumoured in recent weeks to be on the verge of ending his seven-year exile from the wrestling ring by joining All Elite Wrestling. Fuel was added to those stories when AEW announced that the second edition of AEW Rampage, subtitled The First Dance, was set to emanate from Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois on August 20th. That event sold out in minutes as fans clamoured to be in attendance should the former WWE Champion show face.
Now further speculation has arisen after Punk’s co-commentators at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 99 threw references Punk’s way at the announce table during a fight. Punk has commentated on CFFC bouts since signing a deal with the company in 2018.
During a preliminary bout between Lucas Hoffman and Harvey Mardis at the show held in Tunica, Mississippi Punk’s fellow broadcasters made mention of one of the fighters “returning to his wrestling” before following that up with “you know what I’m saying Punk…returning to his wrestling.” Before Punk chimed in by saying one of the combatants was “looking All Elite right now.”

Punk has been coy on his future plans thus far as have AEW with Tony Khan previously refusing to comment on speculation that Punk and another former WWE Champion are both ready to become All Elite.
CM Punk has recently stated that he should be in Chicago on the night Rampage takes place in the United Center but says he may have a prior engagement.
Should CM Punk return to wrestling at AEW, it will mark his first appearance at a major wrestling show since the 2014 Royal Rumble. Punk did briefly work on the now-axed WWE Backstage show but was employed by FOX rather than WWE during that spell.
