CM Punk dropped by the Wintrust Arena for an unannounced appearance on AEW Dynamite.
As expected the polarizing former two-time AEW World Champion made his long-awaited return to the show for the first time since September of last year.
His comeback on the promotion’s flagship show came at the end of the first match of the night, which saw the Hardy Boys take on the Gunns. The “Ass Boys” picked up the win with help from Juice Robison and Jay White.
All four began to lay a beatdown on the Hardy’s, which caused Ricky Starks to attempt the save. However, the numbers game came into effect, which in turn brought out the Tag Team Champions FTR who were also met with a flurry of fists.
As the crowd chanted his name Punk flew down to the ring to a rapturous ovation. After the ring cleared out he took to the mic to lay out a challenge. During the promo, he called out the Gunns and Bullet Club Gold for a four-on-four tag team match on Collision before saying:
“I’ve been watching you guys back fighting for weeks. We could do it right here or if you want to fight so bad we’ll make it official and we’ll kick your ass next week on Collision.
I’m a Collision guy. I’m even supposed to be here. I’ll see you chumps Saturday”

CM Punk Hasn’t Been Seen On AEW Dynamite Since Last Year
Punk’s surprise appearance on the show was his first since prior to All Out 2022, last September.
For those of you who don’t know, Punk was suspended following the PPV a controversial promo at the media scrum, which resulted in an alleged backstage altercation with the Elite.
Punk made his long-awaited return to the company on June 17th on the first-ever edition of Collision where he took several shots at the Young Bucks in the opening segment.
