CM Punk Issues Blunt Response When Asked About Shane McMahon's Meeting With Tony Khan

CM Punk has been asked about the Shane McMahon news that left many wrestling fans stunned.

Despite the fact that rumours regarding McMahon looking to join AEW began circulating earlier in the year, many dismissed the reports and saw it as a step too far despite the fact that the past 12 months have been filled with shocking moments. However, when a photo surfaced of Shane McMahon meeting with Tony Khan, speculation went into overdrive with many fantasy booking future feuds for McMahon while trying to envisage what a McMahon in AEW could actually look like.

Shortly after the photo was made public, Punk was a guest on the SI Media podcast with Jimmy Traina. With Punk’s time in AEW and his departure filled with controversy, the WWE star was asked about his thoughts on the matter. Those hoping for a signature Punk response were likely left disappointed as the Voice of the Voiceless declined to comment:

“Pass.”

Punk was also asked if he would be shocked to see McMahon make an appearance in AEW, to which the former World Champion responded “No. I don’t think so.”

CM Punk Discusses Another Newsworthy AEW Story

Punk’s final night in the company took place one year ago at the inaugural UK show All In. Following a physical altercation with Jack Perry, Punk was ultimately dismissed before returning to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago in November of that year. With the altercation caught on camera, AEW aired the footage later in the year, a move that was heavily criticised and had a minimal effect on the ratings. During the same interview, CM Punk issued a response to the decision to air the All In footage.
