CM Punk may have done his fighting in the ring at All Out but a new report suggests the star was part of “a melee” that broke out during the post-show media scrum.
All Out was a huge night for CM Punk at All Out as he headed to his home city of Chicago to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship. In a brutal and bloody contest, Punk managed to get the better of the Blackpool Combat Club star and become a two-time AEW World Champion. But the real story was yet to begin.
At the post-show media scrum, Punk sat with AEW President Tony Khan and issued verbal assaults against Hangman Adam Page as well as company EVPs The Elite for what Punk believes to be their part in spreading stories about Punk’s involvement with Colt Cabana’s diminished role in the company.
Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were reportedly “threatening to walk” over CM Punk’s comments and on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez described “an altercation” taking place backstage with a security guard seen to be running from the scrum room shortly after Punk’s departure. Dave Meltzer followed up by calling the events “a melee.” Although it is not yet known if any physicality between the parties involved took place.
