The fallout from CM Punk’s explosive comments following AEW All Out has almost been immeasurable.
In the immediate aftermath of his verbal takedown of Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Hangman Adam Page, and Colt Cabana, Punk was involved in a backstage scuffle despite being injured and hasn’t been seen in AEW since.
All involved are unable to give details of what exactly happened that night, which has only added to the speculation. Speaking in a new interview with Marc Raimondi for ESPN about the controversy, Punk said that he hasn’t spoken to the Bucks or Omega since that night, although he has tried, only to be rebuffed by lawyers.
Punk also “resents” the idea that he has been painted as the “bad guy” in the fallout, and believes regular locker room leaks have only made things worse.
“Now we all got to roll in the f—ing mud, and that never should have happened and has never been course-corrected,” Punk said. “So, I understand people want to say that, ‘Oh, man, Punk is a dick.’ Well yeah, because I’m defending myself and I will always defend myself. I’m open to have a full-blown f—ing sit-down powwow discussion with everybody about it. But it hasn’t happened yet, and it’s not because of my lack of trying.”
CM Punk Takes Aim At Hangman Adam Page
Elsewhere in the interview, Punk went into more detail about his issues with Hangman Adam Page and their match at Double or Nothing 2022. The two-time AEW World Champion said that he spent much of the match trying to “protect himself,” which resulted in it being “garbage.” He added that it “poisoned” everything for him.
