As the issues for AEW coming out of All Out rumble on, there may be a ray of hope as CM Punk is said to have held talks with company boss Tony Khan.
While after All Out in 2021 AEW was on a high after the return to the ring of CM Punk and the debuts of Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole, the feeling coming out of the 2022 show couldn’t be much different.
New AEW World Champion CM Punk took aim at several of the company’s stars with explosive comments at the post-show media scrum with The Young Bucks, Adam Page, and Colt Cabana among those to feel Punk’s wrath.
A physical fight then took place with punches and chair allegedly thrown with Punk’s trainer and AEW producer Ace Steel also said to have bitten Kenny Omega in the altercation.
Suspensions have now been handed to several stars of the company as well as producers and the Head of Talent Relations, Christopher Daniels as a result of the chaos. However, things aren’t as clear regarding the future of AEW World Champion CM Punk.
Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN has reported on social media that Punk and Tony Khan have held talks since the incident occurred:
“Sources: Keep getting asked about CM Punk. Here’s what I know: Tony Khan met w/Punk in Chicago on Tuesday. The talk “was constructive”. What that means who knows but Steel being suspended is being seen as a sign he won’t be fired. He still could be. Lot of moving parts still.”
According to another report, the situation should be addressed on Dynamite in Buffalo, New York where things may become clearer.
