CM Punk is reportedly not a popular figure backstage in AEW after his explosive comments aimed towards The Elite and Adam Page.
All Out in Chicago was a huge night for both AEW and CM Punk as the hometown star went after Jon Moxley and the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. In the main event, Punk was able to best Moxley with two Go To Sleeps to become a two-time AEW World Champion.
After the bout, Punk was sensationally confronted by MJF who earlier in the night had claimed the Casino Ladder Match chip in bizarre circumstances meaning that Punk and MJF are once again on a collision course.
Following the night’s action CM Punk at the post-show media scrum where he lambasted Hangman Adam Page before turning his anger towards AEW Executive Vice Presidents Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, accusing them of leaking news to do with Punk’s former friend Colt Cabana’s role in the company – which has been significantly lessened since Punk joined the company.
With reports suggesting there was “a melee” during the media scrum after Punk’s exit, a report from Fightful Select also claims that Punk now has “an incredible amount of heat” in AEW. Reports have also suggested that The Elite had “threatened to walk” over Punk’s forthright remarks.
