It is no secret that CM Punk and Seth Rollins despise each other. Ever since Punk’s WWE return at Survivor Series in 2023, Rollins has been hateful towards him. The Visionary made it his mission to ensure Punk never becomes World Heavyweight Champion as long as he’s in WWE.
Their history dates back to Rollins’ main roster debut as part of The Shield, alongside Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose (aka Jon Moxley) in 2012. They interrupted CM Punk’s match at Survivor Series and were cited to be the mastermind behind their creation.
Fast forward to 2023, CM Punk’s shocking WWE return after nearly a decade away, ignited the spark of disdain in Seth Rollins. At SummerSlam, Rollins had everyone deceived with his ‘injury’ from Saturday Night’s Main Event in July. He showed up after Punk defeated Gunther for the World Title, exposed that the injury was a ruse, and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract, ending Punk’s short title reign.
CM Punk Caught Flipping Off Seth Rollins Live on WWE SmackDown
At Clash in Paris, Seth Rollins retained his title with assistance from his wife, Becky Lynch. On the RAW that followed, Lynch confronted Punk instead of Rollins. That segment ended with The Man slapping Punk. Her actions did not go unscathed as the Second City Saint seemed to have a trick up his sleeve.
On SmackDown, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch crashed the show and appeared in the main event. This led to CM Punk laying the path to AJ Lee’s WWE return. While she walked around in the ring, CM Punk was spotted flipping off Seth Rollins, who was at the top of the stairs.
