CM Punk’s list of achievements has gone up another level.
A few years ago, in 2023, CM Punk made his shocking return to WWE at the Survivor Series PLE. Since then, The Second City Saint has positioned himself as one of the top baby faces in the company.
Possessing impeccable in-ring skills as well as equally competent mic work skills, Punk recently defeated Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship, before Seth Rollins executed the ‘Ruse of the Century’ and snatched away the title from him.
Although lacking a title around his waist, Punk has now been named the ‘best wrestler in the world’ by Bret Hart. A running moniker during his original tenure in the company, Hart has now officially positioned Punk as one.
Speaking with Complex Sports in a new interview, Bret Hart opened up about the best wrestler in the business. While he included Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and Roman Reigns in his list, it was CM Punk who snatched away the victory from them.
“There’s a lot of really good wrestlers. I mean, I’m a forever Rey Mysterio fan. I love watching Rey even now today, especially as he gets older. But I’m also a big fan of Roman Reigns, and I think if I had answered the question, I’d say CM Punk.”

Dominik Mysterio Believes CM Punk Killed The Pro-Wrestling ‘Business’
A few days ago, while speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of Shak Wrestling, Dominik Mysterio brought up one of CM Punk’s embarrassing moments and claimed how it had effectively killed the ‘pro-wrestling’ business.
One time, they wanted [Rhea Ripley] to be in a relationship with Dominik Mysterio. Who is going to believe that? ‘Hey everybody, here is a Greek goddess and she is with this f***ng nerd.’ Come on. That exposes the business more than anything we’re going to do on Netflix. Who is going to believe that shit? Dominik Mysterio, little b***h.”
Nothing kills the business more than someone thinking they are actually good enough to go fight in the UFC and get their a** beat not once but twice. If you want to talk about ‘nothing kills the business more,’ just go watch CM Punk’s fights in the UFC. You tell me what kills the business more. Let me call my friend Mickey Gall real quick and see what he thinks.”
