CM Punk has spoken out about the recent comments made by Ric Flair that Shawn Michaels is the greatest in-ring performer in the history of the industry.
In a recent interview with WWE UK, ‘The Nature Boy’ told how, in his opinion, the man who momentarily retired him is the premier performer in wrestling history:
“It’s not arguable anymore, Shawn is the greatest worker in the history of our business. I think everybody would give that to him.”
Elevating ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ above all others – though he did lump Ricky Steamboat in the same category – drew the ire of some including former WWE Champion, CM Punk, who has been outspoken recently about several facets of the industry.
Taking to Twitter to air his disagreement, Punk posted a GIF from the movie, The Big Lebowski, in which the main character played by actor Jeff Bridges states:
“Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.”

CM Punk was very vocal about his time in WWE at the end of 2020, telling Renee Paquette on her Oral Sessions Podcast of a time when he muted Vince McMahon live on air and the time the company made him work while injured.
Ric Flair will be among the many legends to appear on Monday Night Raw: Night of Legends on January 4, along with career rival Hulk Hogan, Sgt. Slaughter and former WWF Women’s Champion, Ivory.
