CM Punk Announces WrestleMania Role On WWE Raw

CM Punk

CM Punk will be at ringside for a massive match taking place at WrestleMania.

Returning to a WWE ring for the first time in 10 years at the Royal Rumble, Punk would make it to the final 2 before being eliminated by winner Cody Rhodes. Unfortunately for the former World Champion, the good feeling came crashing down as CM Punk was injured in the match and would not be cleared in time to compete at WrestleMania 40.

Despite being injured, Punk was not going to miss the March 25th Raw that emanated from The Allstate Arena in Chicago, the same arena where he made his shock return at Survivor Series. Having previously teased that you can’t have WrestleMania in Philadelphia without Phil, Punk made good on his promise.

At first teasing he might be the host, adding that he might have thought that was beneath him back in 2014, Punk then referenced being a special guest referee in a certain title match. The former World Champion was eventually interrupted by Drew McIntyre.

Following weeks of trolling by Drew McIntyre, The Scottish Warrior finally confronted Punk. With references to Punk’s repeated injuries and Vince McMahon, the exchange was interrupted by Seth Rollins. The World Heavyweight Champion responded to the crowd referencing Punk being a referee for the match, which Punk proved he could do by making a 3 count with his uninjured arm.

Stating that he couldn’t be objective in the World Heavyweight Championship match, Rollins responded that he didn’t care about Punk or what he did in his match against McIntyre. Rollins added that he would love Punk to be on commentary at Mania so that he is forced to announce Rollins as the victor. Punk responded by announcing that he would be a guest commentator for the match, vowing to make both Superstars interesting.

Following Punk’s exit from the ring, McIntyre confronted Rollins but was left laying by The Visionary to close out the segment.

A new report has outlined how much of CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s promo was scripted.
