CM Punk got played at WWE SummerSlam 2025, just like many wrestling fans all around the world.
When Seth Rollins walked out with The Oracle, Paul Heyman, immediately after CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship on Night 1, he was using crutches for support. But then, after warning The Best in the World that his days are numbered, the 2025 Mr. Money in the Bank let go of the crutches and sprinted to the ring.
Seth Rollins successfully cashed in the contract, earning the tag “Ruse of the Century,” having fooled them all.
CM Punk Takes A Dig At Seth Rollins For Fooling His Own Daughter
On First Take, CM Punk put over his SummerSlam opponent, Gunther, who “exhausted” him. Be that as it may, Punk did manage to prevail, winning the World Heavyweight Championship. It was his first WWE world title in over a decade. Every emotion was oozing out following the victory until Seth Rollins crashed The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Unsurprisingly, CM Punk is still livid with Rollins and pointed out what a horrible person his on-screen rival is:
“Here comes ol’ Tiny Tim limping out on his crutches. Turns out, it was all phony. He even lied to his daughter. That’s the kind of man I’m dealing with here,” CM Punk said.
While Gunther has not been seen since he lost the belt, CM Punk continues to target Seth Rollins and his faction, The Vision, on Monday Night RAW. The Best in the World has another opportunity to win gold, as he challenges The Visionary at Clash in Paris in a Fatal 4-Way match. The bout also features Jey Uso and LA Knight.
Since Paul Heyman made an enemy out of CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 in April, he and Seth Rollins have become targets. Reigns, meanwhile, is likely heading for a collision course with Bronson Reed of The Vision.
