CM Punk Backstage At WWE Raw, Eventually Asked To Leave

CM Punk

The story of CM Punk is destined to never be dull and remain full of surprises.

Just under two months before he is expected back in AEW it has been reported that CM Punk was backstage at the April 24th episode of Monday Night Raw.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Punk made the short trip to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, just outside of Chicago where the taping is taking place.

There is no word on who exactly Punk was visiting, but he did briefly see Triple H. This would be the first time that the pair have met since the AEW star left WWE back in 2014. Sources stated that Punk also met with other talents before being asked to leave.

One source claimed that the star was asked to leave due to him being contracted to another company. That same source stated that it was Vince McMahon’s call to get him to leave. After being told he needed to depart, Punk said his goodbyes and left.

In an interesting piece of trivia, the venue is where Punk famously defeated John Cena to win the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank in 2011.

CM Punk Set For AEW Return

CM Punk hasn’t appeared for AEW since his infamous media scrum appearance and backstage brawl following All Out on September 4th, 2022. However, in recent days it has been reported that Punk is set to return to the company and be the central star on a new Saturday night show called Collision.

It is believed that the show will debut on June 17th from the United Center in Chicago. It was in that very arena that Punk made his AEW debut back in August 2021.
