CM Punk announces hiatus after brutal Bad Blood match against Drew McIntyre.
On October 5th, CM Punk and Drew McIntyre faced each other in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match at the Bad Blood PLE. Both men took each other to hell during the match but in the end, Punk kept McIntyre down to earn the victory.
Both the men finished the bout in a bloodied mess. However, while Punk limped away to the back after the match, Drew McIntyre required a total of 16 staples to close the deep wound on his scalp. Soon after, on the 10th October episode of RAW, a bandaged-up and wounded CM Punk broke his silence after the match.
Addressing the aftermath of his violent encounter with The Scottish Psychopath, The Second City Saint showed his gratitude toward his fans and colleagues, before announcing his hiatus.
I’m gonna go home. I haven’t seen my wife in about five weeks and have a lot of flowers to buy. I appreciate you all. I’d like to say, ‘I’ll see you soon’ but I just don’t know. Thank you!”
As Punk announced his break and soaked in the moment, he was interrupted by Seth Rollins. The two shared an intense stare-down before The Visionary headed toward the ring. Both the former World Champions do not share a close bond, and this moment might have sowed the seeds for a future clash.
One AEW Star Helped CM Punk During His 2023 WWE Return
In an interview with Gabby AF, AEW star QT Marshall opened up on an incident when he helped CM Punk sort out a ring-gear issue during his 2023 WWE return.
But anyway, I get a text from Cody like, ‘Hey, do you have a pair of black trunks.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I do, why.’ Well, something happened with Punk’s gear and he’s supposed to return at the Garden and the LA Forum or Kia Forum, I guess it was the Holiday tour with Dominik, it was his first match back for WWE.
I was like, ‘Yeah, let me see.’ I had bought a sewing machine a long time ago so I still had all the tools, I returned the machine, I’m not good at that, I don’t have steady hands. Yeah, I pulled off the seams and Cody sends an Uber to my house, it’s like a two hour ride. I give him a box with a pair of my underwear in it and he brings it, I guess he brought it to TV.”
In the same interview, QT Marshall also cleared all the rumors of his beef with CM Punk.
