CM Punk And AJ Lee Share Heartfelt Moments After SmackDown; Celebrate Her WWE Return With A Kiss

AJ Lee with CM Punk on WWE SmackDown

Following her triumphant return to WWE, AJ Lee celebrated with her husband, CM Punk, and shared a kiss with him after SmackDown.

Lee came back to the Stamford-based promotion after 3,813 days by attacking Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. Her much-anticipated return only thickened the plot within Punk’s ongoing quest to vanquish his “Seth Rollins problem.”

The former women’s champion went crazy by beating up and slapping The Man all over as she stood tall with The Second City Saint to close SmackDown in Chicago. When the show went off the air, Lee picked up the women’s IC Title and did her signature skip around the ring, seemingly teasing that she might challenge Lynch for it somewhere down the line.

Before SmackDown closed, the star climbed to The Second City Saint and kissed him, but it wasn’t shown on the telecast due to the camera panning out to a disgusted Rollins and Lynch.

After the show, footage of Punk bowing down to Lee, who was soaking in the adulation of the Allstate Arena crowd, was shown. Then, when they were about to go backstage, the former WWE Champion’s eyes were beaming with joy, and she was proud of her wife, who made her exit holding the women’s IC title.

It remains to be seen if the two power couples will have a mixed tag-team match at the upcoming premium live event, WrestlePalooza, on September 20.

CM Punk Did The Triple H Signature Pose With His Wife, AJ Lee

After they made it to the backstage area, Triple H immediately shared a photo with AJ Lee and CM Punk. Just like what he did to the returning stars and new champions, the WWE Chief Content Officer and even The Second City Saint did the “finger point” pose directed at the former women’s champion.

Before SmackDown went on, AJ Lee put the ink to the paper by signing a multi-year deal with WWE to officially seal her long-awaited return, as shared by Triple H on social media.

Her last match in the Stamford-based promotion was on the March 30, 2015 episode of RAW following WrestleMania 31. AJ, Naomi, and Paige (Saraya) beat the trio of Natalya and The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella).
